Ceremonial Cacao Truffles

 Easy, creamy and naturally sweetened

These truffles are a simple and delicious way to enjoy ceremonial cacao in a soft, indulgent format. They come together in minutes, using natural ingredients and no refined sugar. The result is a deep cacao flavor, a smooth melt-in-the-mouth texture, and the perfect treat to pair with a warm cup of cacao, share at home, or gift to someone special.

Ingredients

Makes around 20 truffles:

  • 120 g Sumay ceremonial cacao paste (chopped)
  • 60 ml cream or plant milk (oat or soy)
  • 1 tsp agave syrup or honey (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • A pinch of salt
  • Cocoa powder for coating

Instructions

1. Melt the cacao
Heat the cream or plant milk until just before boiling.
Remove from heat, pour over the chopped cacao, and let sit for 1 minute.
Stir until smooth.

2. Add flavor
Mix in the vanilla, salt, and sweetener if you prefer a softer flavor.

3. Chill
Refrigerate the mixture for about 1 hour, or until firm enough to shape.

4. Shape the truffles
Scoop small portions with a spoon and roll into balls between your hands.

5. Coat
Roll each truffle in cocoa powder until evenly covered.

6. Serve or store
Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days.
