Winter Freshness – Herbal Cacao Infusion for Any Season

A versatile cacao recipe, perfect for both winter and summer.

This aromatic, refreshing and deeply nourishing drink brings together the sacred essence of cacao with herbs and spices.

I love preparing cacao with herbal infusions. Rose, hibiscus, and fresh leaves bring new life and aroma to this gentle, heart-opening food.
This version with hibiscus, lemon peel and spices is ideal to support the body during winter, and to refresh the soul on warmer days.
Its aroma fills the space, awakening joy and delight. A different flavor for a different day.

Ingredients:

  • 2–3 g dried hibiscus
  • 3 g lemon peel (without the white part)
  • 1 sprig of fresh mint or spearmint
  • 0.5 g ground ginger (or a small piece of fresh ginger)
  • 2 cloves
  • 25 g of pure ceremonial cacao
  • 200 ml of water
  • Sweetener to taste: panela, agave, or honey

Preparation:

  1. In a small pot, heat the water until it begins to boil.
  2. Remove from heat and add the hibiscus, lemon peel, mint, cloves, and fresh ginger if using.
  3. Cover and let steep for 8 minutes.
  4. Strain the infusion and warm it gently again (do not boil).
  5. Blend the cacao, powdered ginger (if not using fresh), sweetener and infusion for about 10 seconds.
  6. Serve, breathe, and enjoy the experience.

Tip:

You can enjoy this drink hot in winter or pour it over ice in summer.
A beautiful way to enjoy cacao all year round — awakening your senses and supporting your immune system.
