About Me

My name is AgosTina and a few years ago I created the company and brand Sumay Cacao, a life project born from a personal story and a journey. I was born in Argentina and came to Spain where I have lived for more than 20 years. I have always been aware of the importance of a healthy diet and the benefits of medicinal plants.

I discovered Ceremonial Cacao, which is the purest and least transformed version of the same Cacao, and I became interested in its history as a ritual drink of the peoples of Central America and what it represented for the Aztecs and the Mayans. In this 21st century and for the generation to which I belong, we are more aware of the wisdom that other civilizations had. Their lives consisted of respecting plants for being food and a source of life, but also for their healing and spiritual powers.

This is how I drank my first cup of cacao: aware of turning to a food and a life experience from another culture that could teach us so much today. I felt that something was happening in me, another field was awakening and over time I was able to see many positive effects on my body. From that moment on I wanted to share my experience so that others could experience it too. In a second stage I began to mix (only for my personal use) cacao with medicinal plants and I could see how they enhanced each other. I traveled to Peru to select a specific variety among several cacaos, I met the cooperative that carries out the production and harvest in a traditional way. I was lucky enough to share something of their daily lives around the plant. The variety they harvest is called Ganso, colloquial name for this cacao and comes from the province of Cuzco. I continued creating my recipes and mixtures for clients who are used to consuming cocoa and who were looking to enhance its benefits.

Today, Sumay offers a range of 6 formulas whose mixtures are part of a health ritual for women, men, athletes, kids and teenagers. Today, in my own way, I try to adapt the ritual of an ancestral drink into a lifestyle and health habit, knowing that this plant has been part of great civilizations from which we can learn a lot.
